AVG invests in technology: new drone for accurate inventory measurement

AVG recently purchased a drone including software from MRR Drones, a young and promising start-up from Eindhoven. With their smart platform we can now carry out aerial surveys ourselves at our site locations. A great step towards more reliable inventory management and a deliberate choice to work with innovative partners close to home.

Inventory management calls for smart solutions
Physically counting inventory at our AVG locations is a challenging job. Because of the size of the sites and the variety of materials, it is difficult to take reliable measurements with the naked eye.
At the same time, accurate inventory records are essential. They form the basis for a correct valuation of the inventory and provide insight into our monthly deliveries.
A flying start in Goch
To make this process smarter and more accurate, we are deploying the drone every quarter at different locations from the second half of 2025. The first flight and survey took place on 17 July at AVG Baustoffe Goch.
The drone flew a pre-entered route entirely on its own and mapped the site accurately using aerial imagery. The collected data was then analysed by MRR Drones, so we can rely on an independent and reliable measurement. This first survey confirmed that this approach helps us carry out inventory surveys faster and more easily in the future.
Technology in service of practice
With the software from MRR Drones, AVG is taking a further step towards data-driven working. Technology helps us make processes smarter, more efficient and more reliable, without losing sight of day-to-day practice.
This is how we build a future-proof organisation, in which innovation really adds value.
A great step towards more reliable inventory management.
